What does Smith Developments make?
We design and manufacture protective cases, bike components and bespoke 3D-printed parts in the UK. Browse each product for its intended application and available options.
How do I choose the right protective case?
Match the exact make, model and version of your device to the product listing. Cases for different devices are not interchangeable. If you are unsure, contact us with the model details before ordering.
Which handlebar mount should I choose?
Selected protective cases offer 22mm, 28mm and No Mount options. Check the diameter at the intended mounting position and select the matching option. The available choices are shown on each product page.
Can I choose a colour?
Many cases offer a choice of colours and single-colour or multicolour options. Select the options on the product page. Contact us before ordering if you need a particular colour combination.
What is included with my order?
Check the individual product description for the included components. Contents can depend on the mounting option. If the listing does not specify what comes with your chosen configuration, ask us before ordering.
Are these official parts from the device manufacturer?
Our protective cases are independent aftermarket products. Brand names identify compatibility; they do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Are protective cases waterproof or crash-proof?
Do not assume a protective case makes a device waterproof or prevents all damage. Only rely on protection ratings or test results explicitly stated for the particular product. Contact us if your application has specific requirements.
Can I use every product on the road?
No. Some products are listed for track use only. Check the intended use for the specific item; a protective accessory does not establish road approval or change the device manufacturer’s requirements.
Can you make a bespoke part?
We offer custom design and 3D-printing enquiries. Tell us what the part needs to do, its dimensions, the intended environment and how many you need. We will discuss feasibility before an order is agreed.
Do I need a finished CAD file?
No finished design is needed to start an enquiry. Explain your idea and include available measurements or photographs. If you already have a CAD file, mention its format when contacting us.
Which material should I choose?
Material suitability depends on temperature, loading, exposure and the intended use. Check the product description or discuss your custom project with us. Do not assume every component uses the same material.
Where do you ship?
We ship within the UK using DPD or Royal Mail. Contact us at sales@smith-developments.co.uk if you need to check delivery to your postcode.
When will my order arrive?
Off-the-shelf products normally dispatch in 2–3 days. Please allow up to one week turnaround before dispatch for all products. Courier transit time is additional. Contact us before ordering if you need a part for a particular date.
Can I change my order?
Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and the change requested. Whether a change can be made depends on its progress. This does not affect any statutory cancellation rights that apply.
What if an item arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect?
Contact us with your order number and a description of the issue. Photographs can help us understand it where available. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
Can I return a standard or bespoke item?
UK consumer cancellation rights generally apply to standard online purchases. Exceptions can apply to goods genuinely made to your specifications or clearly personalised. Printing a standard item after you order does not automatically make it exempt. Rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods still apply. Contact us for help with your order.
